All sailing lessons and theory courses are taught by myself, Elmar Teeuwen (1977). Sailing has always been my passion. I am a recognised offshore sailing instructor by the Dutch Yachting Association and a RYA Yachtmaster ® Offshore Commercial endorsement with STCW95 with years of experience in sailing yachts around the world. I am recognised as an instructor by the Dutch Watersport Association for teaching Theoretical Coastal Navigation. I have years of experience in providing sailing instruction at beginner to instructor level and I have trained several successful sailing teams. I am a ®EMCI registered yachtbroker and purchase appraiser, specialised in the international brokerage of quality yachts from 18 meters.

I teach the sailing skills and knowledge that I learned over the many years of sailing on yachts all over the world. Moreover, I teach techniques I have learned during the many regattas, to cruisers in order to improve their safety and comfort.

I teach sailing by teaching you to look at the clouds and the sea, to feel the forces on the helm, the wind and the movements of the boat. I teach you how to navigate with charts and compass and using the basic instruments that never let you down, such as deptsounder and log. Moreover by looking around to simply navigate on the buoys, lighthouses, etc. I am convinced that this way of sailing, will always be the easiest, safest, most effective and most enjoyable way of sailing. You will learn to use all digital screens, plotters, computers, only as additional information you should never completely rely on. This way you always keep the best overview on the safety and navigation on board.
